Maya joined the MAC team in 2025. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration from the Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design in 2018. After graduating, Maya was a public school art teacher in the Denver metro area before moving into Community Arts Program management at the Lone Tree Arts Center in Lone Tree, Colorado. 

Prior to her arts education career, Maya spent 15 years as a Cryptologic Linguist for the U.S. Navy and the national intelligence sector.

In her spare time, she loves to draw, craft, solve puzzles, read books, watch films, and spend quality time with her family and pets.
