Performances by Multnomah Arts Center Musicians.

What: Free musical performance from 12-1pm
Where: Director Park, Downtown Portland - SW Park Ave & Yamhill St
in the SE corner of the park known as the “Bosque”

September 8, 2010 -Jesse Brooke

Jesse Brooke plays drums. Born in San Diego, raised in New Jersey, and declaring himself a Portland resident after ten years, he finds amidst the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest the space to explore his musical surroundings. After graduating with a music award from Lewis and Clark College, he has studied traditional folkloric musics from Brazil, Cuba, India, West Africa, and Indonesia, as well as from the modern masters on drumset, marimba, and batucada. When he’s not teaching or growing food, he’s playing with his band Trio Subtonic or with the dance company Axe Dide. You can also catch him at Andina in the Pearl every other Friday with Sambafeat.
