Susanne Lechler-Osborn

Metalsmithing Instructor

Susanne Lechler-Osborn is a German artist living in Portland who previously worked in medical research. She took a jewelry class at Pratt Fine Arts Center in Seattle in 1993 and was hooked. She then obtained her MFA in the metals department at the University of Washington and began teaching at Pratt.

Susanne has shown nationally and internationally. Previously she had a silver and semi-precious stone production line that sold in numerous U.S. galleries and in Munich, Germany.

Susanne now spends her time creating one-of-a-kind jewelry that blends her biological background with her artistic sensibilities. Since grad school, she has been incorporating alternative materials such as steel, paper, Perspex, zinc, titanium, felt, and others.
