Sharon Geraci

Art – Collage & Mixed Media

Sharon specializes in watercolors, mixed-media collage and acrylic painting. Originally from New Jersey, she lived in Boston and Los Angeles prior to moving to Portland in 1991. Sharon has pursued artistic interests all of her life, and while largely self-taught, has taken many classes and workshops over the years.

Her early interest in the design of the man-made environment led her to pursue a master’s degree in Urban Design and Community Development at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology after receiving a BA in Urban Studies at Tufts University. While working in the urban transit and planning field for over 20 years in Boston, Los Angeles and Portland, Sharon engaged in a parallel pursuit of art. Now a full-time artist, she engages in a variety of arts-related activities. She has completed murals for a variety of commercial, non-profit and private residential clients, and has worked with schools as part of the Young Audiences program of Oregon and Southwest Washington. As an arts program consultant, Sharon has managed the implementation of major art festivals, and acted as Program Manager for the public art installations in a local Civic Center. Sharon is currently represented by Gallerie Rene’ in Portland, and Parish Gallery in Washington, D.C., in addition to participating in numerous art shows and exhibitions in the northwest. Sharon teaches classes in abstract collage at the Multnomah Arts Center in Portland, as a guest instructor at regional art centers, and in her own studio.
