Sharon Eng studied with Raphael Spiro, graduated from Portland State University, the Juilliard School (BM, MM viola performance), and Univ. of South Australia (PhD, Management). Classical Nuances (oboe, viola and piano), which she co-founded (1995-2010) performed on four continents including concerts at the United Nations in NYC, Athens Opera House, Canberra’s National Museum, Seoul’s Performing Arts Center, and the Sultan’s family in Kuwait. She played in the American Ballet Theatre and NYC Opera orchestras; and toured China twice as co-principal viola with the Polish Sinfonietta. Currently Sharon teaches strings at Multnomah Arts Center and freelances locally. She has served on the faculty of the International Music Institute and Festival (IMIF) at Mount St. Mary’s University in Maryland (www.imif.us) since 2002.
