Rachael Brown grew up in Pittsburgh, PA and started dancing at the age of three, studying ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical and modern. Rachael continued to study dance in Washington, DC at American University, where she graduated with an Interdisciplinary degree in Theatre and Education, and performed and choreographed with groups such as Tappening and the Eldbrooke Artist Series. Upon moving to Portland, OR in 2005, she shifted her focus to teaching dance and running performing arts education programs. She is also founding member of the local contemporary dance company, PDX Dance Collective and a member of the Skylark Tappers. She specializes in teaching creative movement, jazz, musical theatre, lyrical and tap, and believes in an open environment that allows dancers to experience the true joy of dance.
