Little Artists Preschool – Assistant Teacher
Hello, my name is Lindsey, and I am so excited to meet all the new Little Artists this fall!
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Photography from the University of Oregon’s Architecture and Allied Arts School, and I am currently a Masters Candidate for a Secondary Art Education degree at Portland State University’s Graduate School of Education.
I have been teaching visual arts since 2007–through the Portland Children’s Museum, Portland Public Schools, the Right Brain Initiative and Willowbrook Center for Development of Human Potential. In addition to instructing, I have also been an advocate for arts education since 2010. Working with the Portland Children’s Museum, Lindsey has been in over 1,000 Pre-K and Kindergarten classrooms in the Pacific Northwest, showing educators how to use artsintegrated curriculum, play-based learning, and a process-versus-product approach in the classroom.
It is my belief that art is a right, not a privilege; arts education was vital to my personal education and development and it is just as important for any other student. I can hardly wait to start exploring, creating and learning with the Little Artists and team!
