Dance – Movement, Creative Dance
Jarmila’s love of sharing dance and the movement arts has been a lifelong journey. Using dance and movement as an empowerment experience she nurtures her students‘ self-esteem and kinetic sense. Having studied with movement pioneers such as Irmgart Bartinief, Betty Jones and Anna Halpren her approach is as rich as it is eclectic. Jarmila has taught creative movement and ethnic dance here in the Portland area since 1998. Prior to that she has taught in Hawaii, Philadelphia, Cyprus, Australia and Greece. In college she discovered yoga, and her studies and teaching of it took her around the world. She founded “Family Dance” and ran it for two years. Her signature dance camp “Dance Around the World” has been expanding children’s cultural knowledge and experience for over a decade.
