Anne Tapper Blem
Youth Art and Clay
Anne began her artistic training at Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, creating large ceramic animals in their habitats. Some sculptures were so large she had to build kilns around them. Her time at Portland Community College and Portland State University cemented her desire to teach creative skills and to integrate art into every aspect of her life. In school she found the Reggio Emilia teaching pedagogy a particularly compelling way to integrate art. Anne works in many mediums and loves sharing new techniques with her students. Some of her art includes making dolls with recycled materials. Her ceramic totems are installed on the grounds of Portland Community College.
