Migration Stories: Call to Artists

Announcing a Call to Artists for a Special Exhibition

The Multnomah Arts Center is pleased to sponsor a juried exhibition, Migration Stories, in honor of World Refugee Day.

What is home? Is it a place? A people? A state of mind? What is it like to travel from the home you know to a new place? What is it like to be the stranger? To welcome one in? Many of us carry stories of a life-changing journey. It may be our own, or one from our family. It may be deeply connected to our identity, to our past, and affecting our future. We are a nation of indigenous peoples, ancestors of slaves and captives, refugees, and immigrants. How do our collective stories define us? Challenge us? Unite us? This juried exhibit explores the many facets of leaving home, of finding home, and how we make home where we are.
