MAC Trayle Print Studio: Past & Present Instructor & Student Print Show
“Past & Present Instructor & Student Show,” an exhibit of prints from the MAC Trayle Print Studio, will be on view at Multnomah Arts Center beginning April 1. The prints will include letterpress, polyester plate, solar plate, screenprint, etching, lithograph, block print and monotype. An opening reception will be held in the gallery Friday, April 1, 7-9pm. The show may be seen through May 3.
Multnomah Arts Center Trayle Studio is a center for printmaking and book arts offering classes and workshops in intaglio, lithography, relief printmaking, screenprinting, monotype, letterpress, bookbinding, papermaking and more. The 1000 square foot studio is home to the very first of over sixty presses built by legendary pressmaker Ray Trayle, a professional Portland machinist, whose presses are housed in institutions such as PNCA, Mount Hood Community College, Marylhurst University, University of Portland and Hui Press in Maui. The studio’s mission is to provide high quality courses in printmaking and book arts following the example of excellence that Trayle fostered.
