Important Camp Information—Please Read Carefully
FOOD/DRINKS REQUIREMENTS: Please bring a water bottle and snacks for 1/2 day camps, or a water bottle, snacks, and a sack lunch for full day camps.
PICK-UP/DROP-OFF: MAC cannot accommodate early drop-off or late pick-up. Please list all individuals authorized to pick up your child on the Participant Emergency Form. Any other arrangements must be requested in writing and approved by a Program Director.
REQUIRED FORMS: Participant Emergency Form — This form is required for all students and must be submitted to the MAC main office BEFORE the first day of camp. Please let MAC staff know if you have a current camp form already on file at MAC. Students who do not have this form on file will not be allowed to attend camp until this form is submitted. The World in Photo & Story Ages 13-17
Become an artist spy this summer! Translate observation skills into digital photographs and writing. Travel around Multnomah Village and record what you see. Explore how photos fit into writing. Maybe you’ll write a mystery set in Gabriel Park, a play staged in Annie Bloom’s, or compose a Fat City Cafe poem. Leave class with a book to share including digital prints. Bring a writing utensil and a current digital camera. This camp will travel off site.

Basketry Workshop Ages 8 & Up
Make two full-size baskets and several small fun projects while learning the basics of rattan basketmaking. Weave a base, with shapes and patterns and learn the materials and tools that are used. Many color choices as well as natural materials will be available. The skills developed in this workshop will lay the foundation for an inexpensive and useful lifelong hobby. Camp guidelines do not apply for this 2-day workshop.

Yoga & Dance Camps
Explore yoga movement and creative dance through activity, games, songs, group yoga, meditation, jokes, trick and basic postures. Cultivate life skills such as cooperation, self-control, agility, strength, flexibility, relaxation tools and creativity. Be better prepared for everyday life, sports and school with exercises that benefit both mind and body. Please bring a blanket to class, and a mat if you have one.

Explore the world of folklore, fables and tall tales! Learn about story telling and performing arts by working as a class team to act out well known fables. Then collaborate to develop your very own fable, with sets, props and costumes. There will be a performance for family and friends on the last day of camp.

The Devil in Poe’s Belfry Ages 13 – 18
Learn the foundations of adapting material through the creation of dialogue, innovative staging of poetry, and physicalizing the author’s intent. Writing, movement and performance skills will be challenged and stretched as the cast builds a rich, dark. and haunting performance of Edgar Allen Poe’s work. The play will be performed in a showcase open to the public on the last day of camp.

Musical Theatre — Guys & Dolls, Jr. Ages 9 – 17
Experience the thrill of performing in this 3 week intensive. Find fulfillment and expression on stage and enjoy the fun and camaraderie of a great summer day camp. Caring directors and instructors will lead the cast to a full production of Guys and Dolls, Jr. which culminates in 3 main-stage shows August 7 – 9. Explore acting, singing, and dancing and improve your theatrical skills as you build friendships and gain confidence. Guys & Dolls, Jr. features great roles, tons of fun dance numbers and loads of catchy tunes. There’s a part for everyone in this exhilarating educational experience!
