Creating Velocity Ages 18 & Up
Imagine sitting at the airport on the hood of your car, watching a plane take off and feeling the fast and faster moving air against your cheek, hair, and eyes. That’s velocity, and fine pieces of prose and poetry can create this same effect. Read others’ work, write your own, and get swept up in the energy of fine writing while observing the physics of it as well. All genres. Some experience recommended.

Recast & Revision Ages 18 & Up
A carefully placed intimate detail, shift of verbal tense, or a different point of view can entirely change the sense and meaning of a story. Experiment with other writers’—famous and not so famous—works by allowing one or two particular choices to guide your rewriting. Watch how strong, particular choices can strengthen any writing, and bring these techniques back to your own work. For prose writers.
